Merchant turn Pirate --- The Tale of Captain SeaRaven

Prelude

I was on my way back from my first trip to India. I had many goods, nay, treasures, I had sewn from India's fine silks. I was half way to the highest ranks of the merchant class. My skills as a tailor were becoming unmatched. As for my skills at the helm, I could now handle a Trading Xebec with expert skill and was on my way to collecting the cash for my Survey Large Schooner. Needless to say, I was living high in the world of merchants.
Then, fate would have it, the course, nay, heading of my life as a captain changed forever. A Super Corvette was gaining quick on my stern. Who knew if he was a pirate or not, a battle ship in these waters was enough to make anyone nervous. It was then I saw it. They raised the jolly roger.
'All hands on deck', I shouted to my men, I needed these men to push this baby as fast a she could go.
'Handle the sails', I looked at the sails to see the wind direction. 'Curse these winds!' I had prepared my ship to run into the winds. The winds were at my back and the pirate, judging from his sails, had the advantage. It hit me. For the first time ever... I was going to be pirated.

A silent ring set in our ears as the enemy ship had finished firing on us and boarded the ship. They took all my goods and left me little coin. After minutes of banter with the pirate captain it seemed he had taken a liking to me(I guess he enjoyed witty slams). As for my ship, it was in no sailing condition and he agreed to pull me into Luanda so I could restock and make it to Europe.
I realized something with my time in the company of that pirate. I had it all wrong. What use was it to be the greatest merchant in all the land if a sub-par pirate could leave you but a man floating on the flotsam of your ill-fated ship. No more would I serve the markets and scury from battle ships. No! Never again. I would pursue the life of a maritimer. I would become a great naval officer and when the time was right I would turn my back on the life of this 'civilized' European world and become a pirate. Perhaps even... the greatest the world had ever seen.
My heart burned like a great fire that day. Little did I know how daunting a task it would become.

I made my way to through the ranks of maritime. I made friends in the courts as well as friends on the less friendly(or more so depending how well you know them) side of the sea. I grew in strength and skill. I pursued cannon skills as well as  occasionally improving my performance at boarding the enemy ship. I knew this day would come I waited for it, I burned for it. I would make my strength known as a pirate. The days itched closer with a nagging anticipation. I was ready I had made the maiden voyage of ‘Ran’ my new vaisseau all that was left was a few more modifications, well, perhaps more than a few but it was close!
I had tried my hand earlier at pirating realizing it was too soon to try for real as I was quickly out matched and soon floating on flotsam. But now I was confident. I could take down my opponents of every shape and size. Those that rivaled me I would crush through will!
As the days grew closer I started spreading the word of a new pirate appearing going by the name of SeaRaven aka me.
Last night I celebrated with my crew and that of my partners in the company. We shot of fireworks in front of Seville before making our separate ways. I’m sure alejandrooo and puffaholic were in no condition to pilot their ships but they made it out with out incident. I’m on my way now to prepare for the coming days and attempt to pull through at any cost!

I need more, I thought to myself. I must have more….
I need more skills. More money, better ships, even my second mate, Wilu, needs to be better.
In my quests for power through all means. Through, skills, through money, through bribes, and through powerful friends; I have achieved great ranks in the merchant and maritime world. However I have always lacked in my exploits. It seems this oversight on my part has cost me time now, as well as possible greater skill and treasures. Every time my feet touch the waters my soul craves the thrill of piracy. It seems that there is always something that pulls me from my dream. I have every skill a pirate could dream up, but still I lack.
After this there will be no more ‘hold ups’ I will find my first meal. I will be as the sea and swallow her whole. I will feel as the cannons rip through the flesh of my adversary. I will feast on the riches of my plunder.
There are 80 ranks in the adventurer world I only desire 50 of them now. 13 more ranks till piracy is my world. Adventure is much to my distaste. So much time and, so often, so little reward.
